Setting the Right Expectations 

As silly as it may sound, many people get involved in a business (and YES you are now self-employed, and this is a business) expecting to dedicate the same time, energy, and effort into the business based on the results it yields in the beginning. As smart as this may sound to some people, and dumb as it may sound to successful people, expecting your business to produce the results you want without putting in the effort, is as silly as expecting a fire to give you heat without first chopping the wood! You can’t expect your business to produce results without FIRST putting in the necessary time, energy, and effort into making the necessary changes in YOU, and going through the steps required in order to get the results you want.

      The person who hired you will send you a link to complete your contracting. This link will be coming from onboarding@Quility.com Once you receive this you'll want to follow the steps below depending on licensing status.

      • Unlicensed Agent: You will want to keep track of the onboarding link as you'll be updating as you go. Once you're enrolled in a licensing course you'll attach proof of licensing (such as a receipt). Then when once you have passed your exam you'll be able to apply for your resident license through NIPR or Sircon. You will need to stay on top of this and once you see your license is active with your state you will log back in and update all info with LIMRA/AML, Licensing Info Etc.
      • Licensed Agent: Please complete this contract no later than 48hours. See instructions below! Once the contract has been approved by your Agency Owner it will be sent to Symmetry's Contracting Department for Approval. Please keep an eye out in your email for any revisions needed or welcome email from them. *** if you are an EXPERIENCED Agent, which means you have current contracts with carriers, we need to know what carrier appointments you have. Please provide this to the person who brought you on and ultimately this information needs to get to the Agency Owner or their Admin. 
      • AM AM Anti Money Laundering Course (AML)/Webce: This is separate then the LIMRA AML (below) and will need to be completed in your contracting packet when you submit. (Instructions on how to access and complete are in the contacting link that you will receive. )
      • ​​Limra AML: This certification is required for certain carriers in order to write business. Once you are fully licensed and contracted with Symmetry (SureLC fully set up) and those particular carriers, you will receive access to complete this. However you must set up your account and log in to see invite. 

        Limra Help: For most people, your Username is your National Producer Number (NPN). If you do not know your NPN and would like to look it up, please visit the National Insurance Producer Registry's website. If you do not have an NPN, your carrier may have provided you with an alternate Username. If you are unable to locate it, please contact CFM Partners' Helpdesk at (866) 364-2380 or support@cfmpartners.com for assistance. Our Help Desk hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time.

        Schedule your licensing exam. Some states have waiting lists for taking the exam. Review your state process below and get your exam scheduled. In states where accepted, you will want to schedule your exam prior to completing the pre-licensing course. It should take you no longer than 2 weeks to complete the pre-licensing course. Again, it’s important to understand your state-specific guidelines for background checks and their licensing process.

        All State Vary in terms of their requirements to get an Insurance License.  It is imperative that you are aware of your state's timeline and procedures

        What is E&O Coverage 

        What is Errors and Omissions Insurance or E & O?

        E&O Insurance is a professional liability insurance that protects companies and or individuals agents against claims made by clients for inadequate work or negligent actions. Errors and Omissions insurance covers both court costs and any settlements up to the amount specified on the insurance contract. 

        E & O Coverage is required with ALL the carriers in order to submit business with them, except the following:

        American Amicable
        United Home Life (UHL)
        TransAmerica
        Mutual of Omaha

        To get appointed with, and to submit business with the insurance carriers, you need to have your Errors & Omissions Insurance with at least $1M of coverage and the certificate dated PRIOR to the date on the submitted application.

        GET ENROLLED FOR MY E & O COVERAGE: 

        To sign up for this coverage you can go to the sponsored SFG E&O coverage program to enroll and read more about the coverage. You will receive a certificate at the end that you will need to attach with you contract or send it to your Agency Owner.

        Before diving in, the first thing you should do is save the Zoom Trainings and schedule them in your calendar. If you’re not plugging into these Trainings on a weekly basis, you are missing out on one of the most valuable resources with S.W.A.T. These conference calls give you an opportunity to hear from some of the most successful agents and managers in the company to help you significantly cut down on your learning curve. 

        SCHEDULE TO BE ON THE CONFERENCE CALLS: It is extremely important to begin to surround yourself with the most successful people in Symmetry and learn from the ones who are out there making it happen and doing it the RIGHT way. And how do you do this, by getting on the Trainings  to receive training from the top producers and also getting updates from the company about new products to offer to our potential clients, and as well as new product trainings. It is amazing how many questions we still get in terms of what to do in the home, how to overcome certain objections, like I want to think about it, how and when to use full mortgage payoff vs mortgage payment protection, when nearly ALL of these questions are covered on the conference calls by the EXPERTS that are out in the field doing what it is you are trying to do every day.

        So make sure to respect the time of the mentors and or your managers by being willing to invest time in yourself. You have to ask yourself, If you were them and they were you, and you had the opportunity to work with agents who actually took the time to follow the system and continue to be plugged into the pulse of the company, or an agent that was too lazy to do so, WHO WOULD YOU choose to invest your time into?           Once you either scan the QR Code or clicked the link to Join above, you will be instructed to download the Free Slack App. You can use the following link the below to access the app from your computer as well. (You will need to have this app on your phone at the bare minimum)

          Once you have joined with your phone number, you will be added to the Group entitled "General" which is where you will be able to do 3 things 

          • Post your Number of Appts - You will post your number of dials prior to both Saturdays call and Mondays call for the upcoming wk 
          • Post your Results for your Appts for the Day or Wk - Please see example below*
          • Post when Someone Passes their Licensing Exam

          Licensed agents who are in the field running appointments and writing business, 
          who have submitted apps, can post their numbers for the day/week in the following manner.

          ( There is no need to add your own categories and post no shows, reschedules, Bam Fams, could of, would of, but didn’ts etc)

          Mapping out your success is one of the most important things you can do when getting started with S.W.A.T
           This will also give your mentor the necessary information on how to most effectively work with you to help you accomplish what it is that you are setting out to do. Please fill out your “Outlining Your Success Worksheet” below to  begin mapping out your success.

          Just like with any business, it is important to have a PLAN!!! Unfortunately, most people spend more time picking out a birthday present for a friend than they ever do in designing a LIFE! This Business is one of the most predictable businesses that is out there and the “Science behind the numbers” is irrefutable. 

          The Combination to Your Safe that you will find in Step 2 of 10 Steps, has been created from over 20 years of Mortgage Protection data, tracking thousands of agents phone calls, appointments set & sat, and hundreds of thousands of applications submitted, policies approved, declined & or not taken, to come up with the “Averages” that the formulas are based off of. 

          This is in NO WAY a guarantee, as we all know there are no guarantees in life, but rather a prediction based on some pretty definite data tracking. Once your Mentor/Agency Owner has your ‘Outlining to Success Worksheet” they will be able to go over your “Combination to your safe” which will show you EXACTLY what you are going to need to do in order to accomplish what you indicated on your form.

          With over 20 years of experience in training and development and the tens of thousands of individuals who I have had the pleasure of working with over the years, the 1 thing I have come to the conclusion on, is that people really aren’t looking for a guarantee! Most intelligent individuals have come to the realization that there are no “guarantees” in life. 

          No one can guarantee that their boss won’t make a stupid decision that will cost them their career, the company they work for won’t downsize, the company won’t close, they won’t get fired, or guarantee anything else won’t happen that will cost them their income for that matter. People don’t want guarantees, they want predictability!!! And once you see the combination to your safe, the numbers and data that it is based upon, you will get just what you are looking for, predictability. This is hands down the most predictable business I have ever been in.
